About Sue

Sue Fanning - visual storyteller

Once you enter my studio, you will instinctively know a few things about me. My love for the creative industries and my desire for some semblance of order. Some might call it a tad OCD (and there is truth to that). But when creating, I want to put my hand on that gadget or spray paint. Don’t get me wrong, I can make a humongous mess during the creative process. But that’s half the fun.

I have been passionate about all things creative since finger painting in preschool at the age of four. And whilst I spent most of my working life in equal parts in the hospitality and advertising industries, I continued on my creative journey learning new skills and techniques over 40 years.

Through long term drawing and art classes, jewellery courses, workshops and study, including an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design and a Certificate III in Micro Business Operations, curiosity
got the better of me and more recently I have broadened my pursuits in the arts and crafts arena.

I have reached a point where I wish dedicate myself to my own work/life balance but also to that of other through imaginative and creative expression; through visual story telling using a multitude of mixed media products and an unlimited imagination.

My aim to ensure you leave my studio with a feeling of accomplishment and contentment by consistently providing quality and a personalised service.

Welcome to my studio

I have put my heart and soul into realising this lifelong dream - to create a space for my soul to sing and to nourish my creative self.  It is my sanctuary and it is one that I wish to share with you.

Once you’ve taken a moment to absorb the tantalising display in front of you, it will be too late to turn back. ‘In My Studio’ you will discover the delight of carefree application, uncover the joy of trying something new and realise the satisfaction of creating something wonderful.

My role here is not solely as teacher but facilitator of any given process. I will give insights, direction and demonstrations on the effects of colours, mediums and implements used.  Your input, your experience, is the core focus on any given day. What you want out of the experience is my motivation. We do everything together and there is no right or wrong - just different ways, and different results.

At the end of the day, I have a wide range of experience and a desire to share the creative journey with like-minded souls. Come - choose your colours, your mediums, your tools and explore the creative world with me.
